1. The cheeks of clouds have wept, and the sky abhors their crying,
Their tears make the small birds laugh.
١. ناحَت فَواخِتُ سُحبٍ وَكرُها الفَلَكُ
بُكاؤُها لِطَواويسِ الرُبى ضَحِكُ
2. The stars of buds reveal themselves in necklaces,
The cheek of clouds whose moons are blessings.
٢. وَأَنجُمُ النَبتِ تُجلى في قَلائِدِها
جيدُ السَحابِ الَّتي أَقمارُها البِرَكُ
3. The flowers between the terraced rivers
Are like an evening glow surround by love knots.
٣. وَالوَردُ ما بَينَ أَنهارٍ مُدَرَّجَةٍ
كَأَنَّهُ شَفَقٌ مِن حَولِهِ حُبُكُ
4. So serve us the pure juice of vines
As if it were liquid gold in woven cups.
٤. فَسَقِّنا مِن عَصيرِ الكَرمِ صافِيَةً
كَأَنَّها الذَهَبُ الإِبريزُ مُنسَبِكُ
5. The wine in the goblets shows affection
As if it were white silk with woven rings.
٥. يُبدي المِزاجُ عَلى كاساتِها حَبَباً
كَأَنَّهُ مِن حَريرٍ أَبيَضٍ شَبَكُ
