1. Whenever you look upon the state of a man
Who has none to give him solace or cheer
١. إِذا ما تَأَمَّلتَ حالَ اِمرِئٍ
فَلَم يَكُ مِمَنَّ لَهُ قاعِدَ
2. Then from giving him your love flee away
For no use comes from loving one so drear
٢. فَكُن مِن مَوَدَّتِهِ هارِباً
فَما في مَوَدَتِهِ فائِدَه
