1. The abode of might and abjection comes and goes,
And no slips occurred from you in the dusty (battle) field,

2. And you hope for an elevation, without which fate's measure (decree) is,
And your determination breaks the knocking of destinies.

3. If you are one who disdains oppression, then adhere
To a determination, before which the heart of tribulations is confused.

4. And nothing eliminates oppression but its decisiveness,
And the shame of abjection is not dispelled but by the struggler.

5. Seek might in the Greens among its stars,
And be piercing in it while they (the stars) are declining.

6. And if the meadows were vacant of you and you made
The habitations feel lonely, then they would be first to lament over you

7. Do not the poignant smells of sweet herbs give you
A model, so you follow the path taken by the virtuous?

8. Their lofty houses - if disasters shake them -
Become spears, sharpened blades and missiles.

9. They faced in the victory of Hashim's crescent
Umayya when the tribes supported it.

10. And they dragged in the land of al-Ghadiriya a sea
Of blood whose coasts were not seen for them

11. A day like the Day of Resurrection and the Resurrection is
Less feared, while its late and early (stages) dismay.

12. Swords of defeat from the army of Hashim
And lions of war whose remnants the hyenas took away

13. When the roaring (war) called them, companies
Gathered for them above the horizons of the sky

14. And if it was clouded with gloom, dawns broke out
Whose west was killing and pouring blood.

15. And for the birds inclining to get their sustenance
Their spears in the heat of battle were providers.

16. And in the liver of heroes their spears are planted
And their swords from its blood are dripping wet.

17. For them are the fruits of might from its orchards
So their might between the two skies comes and goes

18. And the day of the Canal was not seen (to have) more patient than them
The next morning when armies of death circulated around it.

19. And it did not stop meeting the spears with their chests
Until the horsemen were saturated with its blood.

20. By my life some rounds of the lofty glory of the victor
Fell to the stabbing and they were perfect.

21. And after them, the helper of Hashim set out
Unique in fighting for the upright religion.

22. On a swimmer whom no dust clung to
When the day of the difficult test raced.

23. I wonder at who the dust beneath him
Could not carry despite his heavy load.

24. A protector whose intention thereby the peaks
In the fray return inverted and low.

25. He set out to clash with spears angrily
Wherever he tilts, death leans (towards it).

26. And he left them in his west, lying
On the ground preoccupied with death and its preocuppations.

27. And he did not stop finishing them off until
He had fulfilled the rights of the polished sword.

28. And there is no person but the soul preys upon him
And he left `Adnanites like the brood of a bird

29. Which enemies attack all the time.
And at the Canal, some chained captives from the progeny

30. Of `Ali the Victorious whose tears are flowing.
Enduring in the captivity without anyone to provide for them

31. And how can they have a provider after the son of Ahmad?
Omayya rouse from the slumber of polytheism and look

32. Were captives taken from prophets' families?
Why are protected women and captives

33. Roaming with you the barren lands, O `Isa, in small groups?!
And why the Messenger's daughters and his in-laws

34. And grief in a wasteland where fires for heat are kindling?!
So you fancy the pattering of clouds is rain dripping

35. While water in the land remains flowing?
So they faint from the heat of ath-Thamaa while your riding beasts

36. Faint without the fainting benefiting the riders?
Beware, O you masked by God, and expect a protector

37. Whose suppression cannot be overcome to rage
He is the Riser, the Guided who will take revenge

38. For what is past so he is hoped for by the vengeful.
Wanted! Even if his vengeance is in the abdomen of death

39. He would split the chest and death is chewing.
With the edge of the sword he takes his due

40. And goes on even obstacles stand in his way.
Quenching with the blood of enemies from two sharp edges

41. And their bodies for the sword are left to eat
You made them fill the immensity of his determination, protection of you

42. O our imam, there is no protector against what afflicts us
How long, may God shepherd you, has our waiting been?!

43. You straighten the pillar of religion as it inclines?!
And you raid a people every radiant East of whom is

44. for you a calamity raiding East and West?!
And by you becomes the garden of religion thriving

45. And for people its perfect sights flourish?!
The sons of revelation have guided Haider in your praise

46. To which a devout believer even if eloquent falls short
So excuse me if I fall short in praising you

47. For rhetoric even if eloquent falls short.
And may the Creator of creation send blessings upon you

48. As long as the pouring tears flow down your cheeks!
