1. Umayya, immerse yourself in languor, and support me,
For what good fortune do you have in high places worth seeing?

2. Descending to your lowly thoughts and baseness,
Neither honored lineage nor gentle birth.

3. You have presumed, not out of nobility, so go back
To where you are from, and sit, worst of seats.

4. Your past is known, and more of the same
Is your present in its recurring shame.

5. What then elevated you in your minds,
Raising you to supreme authority?

6. Is it the firmness of your nobles whose lives
Were moistened by it, though their hearts are dry?

7. Sons of Abdu Shams, Allah did not water a barren tract,
Containing you and obscenity in worst infidel.

8. Why are you not always busy with your debauchery
To distract you from seizing the sons of Ahmad?

9. Behind it you have no father, but instead
You advanced it, not out of progress or benevolence.

10. I wondered at him whose head is in the humiliation of shoes,
Yet appears binding the crown of a lord.

11. Leave Hashim be, and let glory crown him
Upon the enlightened brows in assemblies.

12. And lower yourselves, drawing the veil of shame
Upon you, to a face blackened with shame.

13. Your youth is nominated, but only for villainy
In what he undertakes and transgresses.

14. And your women live lewdly, defiling
Every bed in the darkness with their impiety.

15. Watering your tillage is not just one man,
So how can you hope for pure birth?

16. They took it - ugly, it remains, and their fast
Is a disgrace for you in every sight.

17. Ask Abdu Shams if he sees any crime of Hashim
Except what he himself extended in aid.

18. And say to Abu Sufyan: what do you resent?
Did the crimes of Muhammad harm you on the day of opening (conquest)?

19. How did you repay Ahmad for his deeds,
By shedding the blood of the pure of Muhammad's house?

20. The morning after the folds of betrayal toward them
You looked with piercing, rancorous eyes.

21. You sent against them every dark (calamity) beneath which
You drove to them every well-supported rebel.

22. There is no day like the day of (Karbala) in anguish,
Heat of Harran, regret of the subdued.

23. Downpours of grief, hollowing out hearts,
Which said: arise from fervor and sit.

24. The morning the son of Revelation's daughter fell
Lifeless, on the burning hot ground.

25. The family of Harb knew that the day they killed him,
They spilled the blood of Islam with an atheist sword.

26. By my life, even if he did not attain rest on a pillow,
Still, my passionate brother's death is not cushioned.

27. And if the Indian cut up his body,
The flesh of the nobles is the taste of blend.

28. And if none witnessed his murder but his sword,
That is his brother Al-Saddiq (the Truthful) in every view.

29. He died an honorable Hashimite death,
Known to them under the intentional blow.

30. A noble who disdained the lowliness to smell
His nose, so he sniffed the thorns of solid determination.

31. And he said: stand, O soul, the stance of one seeking
The cisterns of destruction, not the hesitant stance.

32. I see that the back of humiliation is a rougher mount
Than death, where death lies in ambush.

33. So he chose to tread on the embers of turmoil
With a foot, rather than give the reins from his hand.

34. The son of Ali has passed, and his peers as well,
So you will not see - while you live - the rise of a master.

35. Nor a proud Hashimite, after the day that terrified
With the sharpened swords.

36. Indeed, the war of Hashim has put down its burdens,
And said: the rise of the Riser, the Pure One, is my appointed time.

37. O Imam of guidance, hear a rousing reproach,
Not a rebutted reproach.

38. My self is your ransom - there is no room for patience -
That you should be heedless, with no resilience to grasp.

39. Can you forget - does one forget the deeds of Umayya -
The brother of one whose past actions were wiped out?

40. And you sit back from war - what decisive moments are there
Against them, when the fires of wrath have not blazed?

41. So stand, bare the sword against them, and avenge
Yourself with resolute, intense vengeance.

42. And stand, show them the flames of the blades as a vanguard
In a night raid of passionate cold.

43. For how many did they force into the cave of Arqam,
And how many of their dens did you tread?

44. And how many of your inviolable quarters did they violate
Defiantly, and how many of your necks did they strike down?

45. Do not stop until you soak their pastures with their blood
From your swords, and every place they drink.

46. Do not stop until their protector is trampled by the hooves
As the best master trampled it.

47. Do not stop unless you take their women captive,
One group after another, in captivity.

48. And if you do not - you will remain
Gasping with the pain of an anguished heart.

49. You will destroy them thirsty as they killed you
Parched - the heat of their hearts was not cooled.
