1. The caravan praised its rest in your protection,
Where the birds of hope raised their chicks.

2. O brother of generosity, how many cries
Of the children of time you have answered their screams.

3. With your abundant giving, how many palms
Have you wiped, like an eye with its flowing tears.

4. People only called on you for help,
And with your shoes you stepped on its threshold.

5. How we praised the purity of your generous palm,
While we blamed a stingy palm for its filth.

6. And we copied the superiority of the generous,
And from the glorious Quran we knew its transcribing.

7. You stood among the youth until
You closed in time with prohibitions its old.

8. The water of dew does not run out on the delegates,
Except from your hands, so its flowing does not cease.

9. Between the dew and you is a contract,
The delegates of your rest are secured from its breach.

10. You are but branches of pride,
Your forefathers were its firm roots.

11. Where the garment of hope was not worn out except
From you its most perfect form was derived.

12. That disdained to be touched by a critic.
