1. She left against our affection, aloofness in her
After estrangement, she returns with affection

2. We have remained, as we were during the days of her love
Neither deciding to depart, nor to break our pact

3. Many a long night, sleepless I remained
While the stars above me blinked and nodded

4. With a heart devoid of lovers, he slept
Not knowing the love that was within me

5. When the house was spacious or confining
Side by side we were, never bothered by closeness or distance

6. And I pour upon the estrangement and aloofness
Sweet memories of him, sweeter than honey

7. My friend, if you only knew
The strange passion within me, so listen to what I say

8. Did they not claim that hearts belong to their lovers
As witnesses to separation and affection?

9. Why then does my heart firmly cling to the knot of passion
For one who has loosened the knot of passion?

10. Am I alone, my friend, in this way?
Or have others found the same in their love?

11. By the unique star of Najd who quenched life
With the protected pact of your banner’s shadow

12. Dwellings that make every lover of passion halt
And restrain the hands of departing lovers

13. The sun rose in the west, a sign for us
You gave us the good news - the Mahdi is revealed!

14. The successor came - the son of the Chosen One, Al-Hassan
Who arose with the truth, guiding to righteousness

15. A guiding Imam, the light of prophethood shining
With the rising of a full moon in its glory

16. Through his nobility the Imamate opened
Bringing you a fragrance making you needless of gifts

17. With him God protected the Sunnah of his grandfather
And supported each of its pillars

18. With enlightened guidance he arose guiding
To the truth, in thick darkness illuminated

19. The remainder of the people of knowledge, wisdom and virtue
Of piety, righteousness, devoutness and asceticism

20. Had I not respected the teacher of knowledge I would say
None of the virtuous scholars can match him

21. A youth who was beloved to hearts through his qualities
Whose brilliance was sharper than a sword or spear

22. A nature like the meadow, gentle its breeze
With mysteries it flows, spreading the aroma of Najd

23. With it one who drank water, if blended
Would not doubt that it is the eternal Kauthar

24. One who restores what he revealed in generosity, not like those
Who come but do not return to what they began
