1. Your father, though no longer alive, endures
Why then do sorrows torment you?

2. Do not despair for one who is lost
And see, who remains to guide

3. We, the people of this world, enjoy
Its goodness, its squares and tents

4. We hope for recovery for our sick
While the healthy among us is ill

5. And we aspire to remain in it
Though death is the ultimate we aspire to

6. This is al-Husayn, who was
Watering the clouds with his smile

7. Ask his shrine, if you wish
He is surely knowledgeable about it

8. It will tell you how much good he did
That the dark night may bloom

9. Devoted to God, he kissed
The ground of his mosque, the stars

10. He is the true pious one
After whose birth it was sterile

11. The doves departed with him, so those
Are the symbols of piety

12. With the lifting of his coffin, blessings
Were raised up and comfort was lost

13. They carried him while piety
Clung to him as his tears flowed

14. O you who will not return
For eternity has no recurring

15. Does the grave know that you
Are the doer of good, settled within it?

16. The moon of the sky hid with him
Or is it your generous self revived?

17. If others inherit from you
An orphan whom they raise devout

18. Then devotion is an inheritance and the trustee
Is your piety and asceticism the orphan

19. And what settled your mourning is piety
Piety, what a good settlement

20. And with you is the comforter who came
In his praise, the Wise Remembrance

21. The Riser, the Mahdi, will appear
With his emergence, worries will be unveiled

22. He inherited the knowledge of prophethood
So he is the All-Knowing, the Expert of it

23. The patron with his call of pride
While the prey of others is humiliated

24. The angels of heaven call
Upon his pavilion that they hover over

25. And with the scent of his sandal
The dust of his threshold is fragrant

26. In his breast, the Mahdi produces
Knowledge for people while others are sterile

27. His outcomes have filled time
While others are of impotent form

28. So he has the leadership in guidance
While others in claims are sinful

29. O you whose lineage is clear
And noble lineage is esteemed

30. It is wondrous that one above you
Seeks your loftiness, of ancient nobility

31. Above vermin, and under your sandal
Is the nose of his aspirations, despised

32. He aspires, but where can the hand of one
Whose stars are upon the earth reach?

33. You and the breeze are two of a kind
And your call and abundant rain

34. You are the means of the exalted
And your son, the strung pearls

35. A people who the frightened are safe with
And through them the deprived grows rich

36. You see each as Ja‘far
In generosity, and he is their chief

37. I hope for supremacy through them
Like musk spread by the breeze

38. They suckled the Imamate, so all of them
Are nourished by the light of its infallibility

39. Their loyalty is an obligation, and their
Guidance is the Straight Path

40. Time is adorned by their brilliance
So by them it is beautified and seemly

41. By them, days rain upon us
The blessings of their lushness

42. The sky craves that it
Be the ground of their land forever

43. And when they walk upon the earth
Their sandals are envied by the stars

44. O masters of knowledge, by whom
Even mountains are weighed down

45. Through you is consolation, and it suffices us
Of all that has passed that you endure

46. Muhammad in their shade
Will attain the utmost he hopes for

47. So if your father is lost, then each of them
Is a righteous, merciful father

48. It will comfort eyes in the dirt
As his generosity through you endures

49. The angels greeted his grave
Where he settled, from whence he is

50. And from the forgiveness of God he drank
A handful of pouring rain
