1. Thus the dazzling miracle appears
Witnessed by the righteous and the wicked
١. كذا يظهَرُ المعجزُ الباهِرُ
فيشهدهُ البرُّ والفاجِرُ
2. And the oft-told miracle is narrated
By the absent and the present
٢. ويروي الكرامة مأثورةً
يلّغُها الغائب الحاضر
3. Some behold it and believe
Others behold it and are tormented
٣. يقرُّ لقومٍ بها ناظرٌ
ويقذى لقومٍ بها ناظر
4. For some hearts it is a solace
For others it brings joy aloft
٤. فقلبٌ لها ترحاً واقعٌ
وقلبٌ لها فرحاً طائر
5. Lift your thoughtful gaze, O rational one
And rouse yourself, O heedless one
٥. أجِل طرفَ فكرك يا مستدلُّ
وانجِد بطرفكَ يا غائِر
6. Examine the glorious deeds of the Prophet's family
Suffice you what the publishers have spread
٦. تصفَّح مآثر آلِ الرسول
وحسبُك ما نَشرَ الناشر
7. And I relate to you a true account
That pierces the heart of the enemy
٧. ودونكهُ نبأً صادقاً
لقلبِ العدوّ هو الباقر
8. Yesterday it became clear to us
A miracle, his command is dazzling
٨. فمن صاحب الأمر أمس استبان
لنا معجزٌ أمرُهُ باهرُ
9. In the place of his absence, verily
The brother of a mute, his illness apparent
٩. بموضعِ غيبتهِ قد ألمَّ
أخو عِلَّةٍ داؤُها ظاهر
10. His mouth was muted, his tongue still
He was afflicted by time, the betrayer
١٠. رمى فمهُ باعتقالِ اللسانِ
رامٍ هو الزمنُ الغادر
11. Seeking a cure, he came
To the one absent yet present
١١. فأقبل ملتمِساً للشفاءِ
لدى مَن هو الغائبُ الحاضر
12. And was taught words for hire
Deviating from the purpose, unjust
١٢. ولقَّنه القول مستأجرٌ
عن القصدِ في أمرِه جائر
13. While he suffered, his thoughts perplexed
His annoyance left him confused
١٣. فبيناهُ في تعبٍ ناصب
ومن ضجرهِ فكره حائر
14. Then he was freed from that muteness
And relieved of that harm
١٤. إذا انحلَّ من ذلك الاعتقال
وبارَحَه ذلك الضائر
15. So he went to his Master praising
And remembering His miracles
١٥. فراح لمولاه في الحامدين
وهو لألائِهِ ذاكر
16. By my life, his illness was erased
By a hand every living being thanks
١٦. لعمري لقد مَسَحت داءهُ
يدٌ كلُّ حيٍّ لها شاكر
17. A hand that has always been merciful
Thus the Creator ordained it to be
١٧. يدٌ لم تزل رحمةً للعبادِ
كذلك أنشأها الفاطر
18. Speak, even if souls resent it
Whose burning hearts are straitened
١٨. تحدَّث وإن كَرِهت أنفسٌ
يضيقُ شجَى صدرُها الواغر
19. Say that the Riser of the Prophet's family
Possesses the authority and command
١٩. وقل إنَّ قائمَ آلِ النبي
له النهيُ وهو هو الآمر
20. Does the muteness of his visitor prevent him
From that which the visitor professes sincerely?
٢٠. أيمنعُ زائِره الاعتقالُ
ممَّا به ينطق الزائر
21. And invites him sincerely to heal him
Deeming that he is capable
٢١. ويدعوه صدقاً إلى حَلِّه
ويغضي على أنَّه القادر
22. While he hopes for salvation through him
And he accepts the faltering one
٢٢. ويكبو مُرجيّه دونَ الغياثِ
وهو يقبلُ به العاثر
23. Nay, he is the perfect savior
When dire tribulations arise
٢٣. أُحاشيه بل هو نِعمَ المغيث
إذا نَضنَض الحادثُ الفاغر
24. This miracle is not fabricated
By the corrupt and wicked
٢٤. فهذي الكرامة لا ما غدا
يلفِّقهُ الفاسقُ الفاجر
25. Keep mentioning it, O tongue of time
With your fragrant mouth spread it
٢٥. أدِم ذكرها يا لسانَ الزمانُ
وفي نشرِها فمُك العاطر
26. Be elated with it time and again
Its dwellers have inhabited flourishing lands
٢٦. وهنِّ بها سُرَّ مرَّا ومَنذ
به ربعُها آهلٌ عامر
27. He is the noble Hasan the Chosen
The heavy clouds of his mercy pour forth
٢٧. هو السيد الحسن المجتبى
خضمّ الندى غيثه الهامر
28. And say: You are immaculate from any flaw
Through which the Forgiver erases sins
٢٨. وقل يا تقدَّستِ من بقعةٍ
بها يَغفرُ الزلّةَ الغافرُ
29. Nay, the mere mention of you to people
Leaves a clear trace on their faces
٢٩. كلا اسميكِ للناسِ بادٍ له
بأوجهِهم أثرٌ ظاهر
30. To some you are a secret of one who saw
And you are his shining attribute
٣٠. فأنت لبعضِهم سُرَّ مَن
رأى وهو نعتٌ له زاهر
31. To others you are the misfortune of one who saw
And are described through his loss
٣١. وأنت لبعضِهم ساءَ مَن
رأى وبه يوصَفُ الخاسر
32. Indeed Hasan the Generous has bestowed bounties
Congratulating you, openhanded
٣٢. لقد أطلِقَ الحسن المكرمات
محيَّاكِ وهو بَهاً سافر
33. You are a garden of intimacy through him
And his morals are your gazing meadow
٣٣. فأنتِ حديقةُ أُنس به
وأخلاقُهُ روضُكِ الناظر
34. Learned, nurtured in the lair of guidance
The weaving of piety is his pure cloak
٣٤. عليمٌ تربَّى بجحر الهُدى
ونسجُ التقى بردُهُ الطاهر
35. He is an ocean, though overflowing with knowledge
As if he has saturated the meadows with dew
٣٥. هو البحر لكن طما بالعلوم
على أنَّه بالندى زاخر
36. The people disagree over his generosity
It's giver heralds it, traveling
٣٦. على جودِه اختلف العالمون
يبشِرُ واردها الصادر
37. To the place of wishes, the destitute does not complain
Of its father or mother being barren
٣٧. بحيث المُنى ليس يشكو العقام
أبوها ولا أُمُّها عاقر
38. The mention of his virtues took flight in righteous deeds
Soaring through the horizons
٣٨. فتًى ذكرُه طار في الصالحات
وفي الخافقين بها طائر
39. His worth has become so great, no poet
Can attain his sublimity, nor any writer
٣٩. لقد جلَّ قدراً فلا ناظمٌ
ينالُ عُلاهُ ولا ناثر
40. His palm's generosity rivals springtime's youth
Though it seems he has bewitched springtide
٤٠. يباري الصَبا كرماً كفّه
على أنَّه بالصبا ساحر
41. When he rains, the passing clouds are humbled
Calling "You are the raining lifegiver"
٤١. فإن أمطر استحيتِ الغادياتُ
ونادت لأنت الحيا الماطر
42. O guardian of the Muslim's sanctity
You mend the broken guidance
٤٢. فيا حافظاً بيضة المسلمين
لأنت لكسرِ الهدى جابر
43. You have conveyed the pleasure to others besides you
While you are ascetic towards it, aloof
٤٣. فبلّغت لذَّتها مَن سواك
وبالزهد أنت لها هاجر
44. They wish for your strong protection
While you are wakeful, unlike them
٤٤. تمنِّيهم في حماك المنيعِ
وهمُّك خالفهُم ساهر
45. You have surpassed the heights with lasting divinity
His formidable honor remains for you
٤٥. سبقتم علاً بدوام الإِله
يدومُ لكم عزّه القاهر
46. Around you are people of radiant faces
Each a shining star
٤٦. وحولَك أهل الوجوه الوضاءِ
وكلٌّ هو الكوكب الزاهر
47. Thus it should be for the Prophet's family
Otherwise, where is the pride, O proud one?
٤٧. كذا فلتكن عترةُ الأنبياء
وإلاَّ فما الفخرُ يا فاخِر
48. The eye of the envious does not rest upon you
Except it harbors rancor within
٤٨. ولا سهرت فيك عينُ الحسود
إلاَّ وفي جفنِها غائر
49. For your nobility there is no beginning
For your nobility there is no end
٤٩. فليس لعلياكمُ أوَّلٌ
وليس لعلياكمُ آخرُ
50. All of them are knowledgeable and active
While others are not fully developed sons
٥٠. وكلُّهم عالِمٌ عاملٌ
وغيرُهم لابنٌ تامِر
51. Yours is the conclusive word on the day of dispute
And the day of aid, abundant generosity
٥١. لكم قولةُ الفصل يومَ الخصام
ويومَ الندى الكرمُ الغامر
52. The world charmed people with its beauty
Each one seduced by its splendor
٥٢. وَفَرت على الناسِ دنياهُم
فكلٌّ له حسنُها ساحر
53. Each are guiding stars from your heights
Through them, destinies revolve
٥٣. وكلٌّ نجومُ هدًى من عُلاك
بها فلكٌ بالهنا دائر
54. If I am just, the contender is at fault
If I speak, it is the common saying
٥٤. فإن جُدت فالعارضُ المستهلُّ
وإن قُلتَ فالمثل السائر
55. So remain the abode of your glory inhabited
Its door through which you are reached open
٥٥. فدُم دار مجدك مأهولةٌ
وبابُ علاك بها عامر
