The milk of propriety in a time from which it was weaned

14. It came as the path of beauty is vast
Steps narrow though no crime was committed

15. She moved not a step intending arrival
Except her tardiness made it retract a step

16. Until it reached the protection of those in whom
The Creator removes anguish from the Guardian

17. A people who discipline the ignorance of time with their forbearance
Until you see time, after ignorance, grow wise

18. Their existence is remedy for the wretched
No year in the land grew barren with drought

19. So how did a complaint passing by them
Harm a limb of glory, glory itself being secure?

20. It made the lofty laugh and cry while
Fate frowned then smiled in it

21. It shone with misery but its smile did not cease
With the banners of grace until it rained bounty

22. It despaired a little then blew in its breaths
Acceptance of prayer until nations shone

23. Spreading joy through it became a delight for us
For our spreading of the good news that came

24. A joy for Abul Hadi, it restored
The well-being of Al-Hussein to us that passed

25. When time gained what, with it,
It could not spread joy, but regret returned

26. So it followed the first joy with a second
Leaving in the earth neither sorrow nor grief

27. Imbibe the glory in both intoxicated with joy
Congratulate and cup your ear to melody

28. Say, even if an envious ear is deaf
I am gladdened that it left not its deafness

29. May the greatest bounty give you joy Abu Hassan
In a health that left in the viscera no sickness

30. You whom the eye of guidance looked upon
It saw through you, O its beloved, no pain

31. You were patient though patience from you was satisfaction
With God and submission to what He ordained

32. Are you well or Ayyoub, nay, by what
You endured of harm, you are worry

33. Your gift, you were not sent as others sent
You inherited, by God's praise, what you knew

34. An illness, though Satan touched you not in it
You portrayed Ayyoub in patience when sick

35. Until we knew tribulation upon you
Is what prophets with God have for knowledge

36. May God comfort your eyes
With those who weep the eyes of enviers blood

37. Good news, that is the hand of glad tidings with their wellness
It passed over the heart of religion so it melded

38. It was, but to the heart of time agonizing
Its torment almost uprooted the breath

39. The people of heaven and earth wished for you
Its reward, and upon them its affliction divided

40. You restored upon brilliance your merit
After it was contaminated with senility

41. How many son of Fahd among its return
Became through your support and how many son of mongoose

42. For your hands! You polished for eloquence tongues
That if the sword struck its chest one day it would split

43. You are most deserving of guidance leadership
Who contends with you, his arguments are more sinful

For it the stars are scarce to be seen as servants

49. Of a clay that is ever whitened by generosity
No clay of men in the land darkened with villainy

50. To you, O manifest guides of creation
Their tongues spoke of you with what was known

51. If I find comfort in you, Zuhair in praise of you
You have comforted me, so old age forgot me
