1. To you, as firm resolutions have been determined against us,
The gentle breezes carried the greetings of the longing one.

2. They competed in a case of superiority in fragrance,
To you, as all are gentle, tender ones.

3. I have no pretender except the sincerity of passion,
And no witness but excellence and generosity.

4. My strongest assumption is that your nature
Dictated its goodness, as it is the greetings that judge.

5. By the hands that obligated glory its gratitude,
Through it, worries did not sleep from your comfort.

6. You are the one through whom our affairs
Return to a world above the world of today.

7. To the best of the people of earth, righteous and successful,
And the most generous whom generosity praises,

8. A beacon of guidance - without it the land
Would have indulged in ignorant darkness engulfing it.

9. And a sword of guidance whose edge
Obliterates misguidance and makes the religion stand firm.

10. He is ashamed of sins and his conscience is pure,
And a cup of piety flavored with remembrance.

11. We found him to be peerless in his time,
Do days give birth while barren?

12. A young man whom Allah revealed His great majesty,
There is no concealer of what Allah has revealed.

13. He built his glory high, despite the enviers,
None can destroy what Allah has erected.

14. Of such reverence, if a lion sensed its fear,
No pillars would stand firm in the land.

15. And it is followed by another - great it became,
Elevated above the sky the bereavements.

16. You have earned such reward that if divided among the people,
It would in the Final Gathering wipe out their sins.

17. You are for certain, among all people, the firmest
Channel of glory, unsoftened by foreigners.

18. And the most forgiving of people - when distress narrows
The wise forbearing ones’ horizons.

19. The arrogant yielded to you and kissed
The ground your sandal tread, despite their scowling.

20. You see the scholars meet their doom in succession,
And it suffices the guided that you are unharmed.

21. You are in this era the opener of good,
And in it the seal of knowledge and wisdom.

22. You are for my life the sea of generosity and success,
And you possess the ships of abundant rains.

23. O you who spend your era in righteousness, may
The afflictions perish for your sake, as you are lasting!

24. You remain a lasting with no ultimate end,
Standing firm upon guarding the Law.

25. If I said you lived the age, I would have erred -
That age in your service has grown old.

26. Awaken to me a glance of your attention observing me,
While the glance of time from me slumbers.

27. So I pray for myself - though my blood is worthless - that
Blessings for me endure through your permanence.

28. Without the garden of your nature I am no guide,
Without the lightning of your cheer I have no fresh downpour.

29. Besides it, smiles of pearls
From words no composer has voiced in thought.

30. Wondrous compositions of speech - I am amazed that
I am called excused though confused and unsteady.

31. And its flow of words transgresses, though its tongue
Wards off the abrasive enemies with shame and branding.

32. It takes with the tips of its twigs
What the assailants cannot take, even with swords.

33. Its pens indeed mark the line, not the ink,
And its opinions, not the sharp blades.

34. God protected through it the sanctuary of religion, and
Its violations from the people of truth became forbidden.

35. O you who are forgotten for your generosity at times, and the seal,
Lo! One of your meanings is the seal of seals!

36. Your life rains perpetual goodness upon people,
And your palm for the hopeful is a rain cloud.

37. You lowered a wing that ascended with you, so it rose
To where even the eagles cannot reach with their highest flight.

38. Through it God restored the rulings of a nation
Whose features were fading, if not for you.

39. Indeed, you are the eye of its light,
And its protector from the idolaters’ pitfalls.

40. I testified to the people of merit that you are the best among them -
A testimony no blames can trail.

41. And that you are God’s shade and the definitive proof
To which even non-Arabs and foreigners profess.

42. With you is such generosity - even rain testifies
That it is the rain, not the cloudbursts people craved.

43. With it enemies recover and mysteries unravel,
While days ascend though eras decline.

44. You preceded relieving the greatest woes in the lands,
And so you won its praises and the greatest followed you.

45. You confronted calamities - your condition could not
Take from it demands, even if amassing.

46. If not for your tenderness I would swear solemnly:
The solid refractory attacker collided!

47. And yesterday, time would not have caused such calamity
That still makes the eyes of the noble teary and bleary.

48. You received it with patience - your chest not straitened,
Though it agonized you, and your heart not anxious.
