1. Return with your glances, O Quraish, at nightfall,
And with your resolve the deserts were filled, otherwise,

2. You raised your pride above the heads as dead,
And buried your glory in the barren valley.

3. Alas for your unyielding shoulders! They have become
Burdensome on the back of time, heavily.

4. The flesh of your father's sons faded in an hour,
When the bearer of its heaviness went carried.

5. With overturned palm-trees amidst the call for help
You knew nothing but repelling and kissing.

6. The honored women forgot it, but remembered
The morning of al-Husayn's death as one slain.

7. You raised it while uttering Allahu Akbar over the ten
By whom the utterances of Allahu Akbar and La Ilaha Illa Allah were killed.
