1. Time has committed against me the greatest sin,
And tomorrow has resolved to repent from it.

2. With misfortunes that say to him whom they have afflicted:
Thus misfortunes silence the orator.

3. Would that I knew how the lover might apologize
When that which disgraces the beloved has appeared from him.

4. So reflect upon my story and be amazed -
Have you ever seen anything more wondrous?

5. I seek forgiveness when time has sinned.
It has turned away, rejecting, while I came repenting.

6. So overlook, by your gracious pardon, him
Who has come repentant, though undeserving of pardon.

7. Then forgive me the sins of time, O You whom
Time has never spawned an equal, though eons have lapsed.
