1. The violet excelled in merit
And so the violet remains noble

2. When the light of spring desired its fragrance
And contained much evident honor

3. It excelled the lights, achieving alone
The first place in the race, and was not subpar

4. Resembling in its precedence the elegant brow
The pillar of the religion, Ismail

5. A king ascended over the pretentious kings
A father and grandfather in superiority and tribe

6. How they vilified him in vanity but he surpassed them
In breadth to the inherited and long glory

7. Imitating what it represents to them
If they perfected the imitation and example

8. Like the good imitating the defiled through it
To gain some of those traits

9. And when he shows pride, it is to the violet he shows pride
And to it he is attributed so he gains some pride

10. What does the wormwood with form seek
The precedence of the superior imagining

11. Or does it not know the violet never ceased
Being above the palms in majesty upheld

12. Whence for the worthless good a fluency of
Generosity of the generous and it will remain stingy

13. Concealing itself all day with its knowledge
Lest its breeze be seen accountable

14. Until when the darkness of its meanness comes
Where it only sees the little questionable

15. The withered is perceived when its harvest ages
A little or feels dried up

16. And if you read the benefits of the lights for the
Wise you find it among them unknown

17. The benefit, fresh if you wish or dry
For the violet is entirely a product

18. Its breeze does not change in either condition
Nor if you inhale it, blended

19. The store of the caliphs and kings is not
Without it, refined and separated

20. So let it gain the sublime vessel proudly
And let the good return from it disgraced
