1. May God reward the shop of chains, for it
Is the place of hopes from afar and frequented resort

2. People stock up there in every era
And made pilgrimage to it procession after procession

3. They shout in it with shackles as if they were
Free men in a barren valley

4. So who says hurry my shackle for I
Am free, and who suffers much turmoil

5. If shackles miss his face wrinkles
Gloomily, and if they burden him he does not wrinkle

6. They circumambulate the shackled one in an idle circumambulation
A poor man fascinated with rags

7. So this one looks to a shackle of reason
And reason is nothing but a trained camel

8. It humbles every riser of his passions
And overcomes every victor of his hopes

9. And walks with the shackles of experience fascinated
By the bliss for one who has not experienced

10. And this one looks to a shackle of love
And in love there is a shackle of the leaping unifier

11. He calls "Bring me the shackle, O you who forge it
For in the shackle there is escape from the prison of eloquence"

12. Turn it upon my heart, my reason and my love
And tie my palms, cheeks and temples with it

13. And adorn it with lethal beauty and make it smooth
With everything delightful in sights and good

14. Life is dear to us while we are free and around us
Are captives of passion, winners and losers

15. And how many carefree ones, their fortunes are complete
Binding their world with a setting sun

16. Whose hopes lead him so his steps tie
The rope of the stumbler, steps of the ambling

17. And another whom boredom extended his hands
To work without purpose or gain

18. When the toiler sees a hatred of his life
He wishes the days hardship and fatigue

19. And how many ambitious of status, but status is a stronghold
But he is like an unassailable fortress

20. Repelling enemies from his Lord and repelling
People like the watcher lying in wait

21. And how many barren ones whose barrenness broke their shackle
Yearn for the heavy shackle over the father

22. When the world is gracious to him he answers it
With suppressed curses and prolonged howling

23. He sees the state of the ransomed from his captivity
To it is like the state of the rescued avoidant

24. And he who life did not tie with her shackle
Oh, evil what she chose for him to draw near

25. O children of Adam, do not deny it for it is
The lifelines of your souls that have not been buried

26. So you dislike the shackle only because you
Collapse under its heavy branched load

27. The most valuable among you is he who has no increase to his dignity
Nor surplus in his shackles to follow

28. And they claimed shackles are for guiding
Who walked in unknown barrens
