1. A fair maiden draws from the stem of her form,
Then disappears in it, while it is a jet-black trunk,
١. حوراء تسحب من قيام فرعها
فتغيب فيه وهو جثلٌ أسحمُ
2. As if she were a shining daytime in it,
And as if it were a dark night over her.
٢. فكأنها فيه نهارٌ مشرقٌ
وكأنه ليلٌ عليها مظلمُ
