A poem of twenty-seven shining pearls

1. A poem of twenty-seven shining pearls
Whose goblets of nectar circle the world

2. Toward it the blind dog growled enviously
Who can fault the sun at its rising?

3. Its radiance made the diamonds shine
And increased the darkness of his eyes with its brilliance

4. The blind man turned his ears from the secret of its garden
So he did not know what basil was from its hyssop

5. As if I had pelted him with stones
So his ear was deaf to its path
