1. And as supple as a bough, although
Sleep robbed the folding of his limbs -
١. وَمُهَفهَفٍ كَالغُصنِ إِلّا أَنَّهُ
سَلَبَ التثنِّي النَومُ عَن أَثنائِهِ
2. Now he lies sleeping, and his cheek is wet
With dew. I said "The rose is freshly sprayed with water."
٢. أَضحى يَنامُ وَقَد تَحَبَّبَ خَدُّهُ
عَرَقاً فَقُلتُ الوَردُ رُشَّ بِمائِهِ
