1. Stop, O time, for God's sake and lament
And cry for your tears to flow

2. Stop, O time, do not wonder, for it is not what
I say to you that calls for wonder

3. Remembering you, my guide, has passed and our prayers
In its reward the dry grass luxuriates

4. If you, my guide, have left us physically
Missing you, we never completely left

5. Twenty years, O best preacher
You have listened to the east, crown of gold glory

6. You called for truth and the days bear witness
You sought nothing but the truth

7. So you did not seek for self benefit
Nor called for status or ambition

8. But you hoped for reward from the Creator
And recompense for all the toil you offered

9. O savior of the East from feared disasters
Without you, the East would have burned in flames

10. You called and people are mixed kinds
Among them the greedy and the foolish

11. Yet you did not tire from the adversity you faced
Nor wavered before the blows of time

12. O people's guide to seriousness in an age
In which souls inclined towards play

13. O pioneer and leader of the great awakening
You revived the spirit of piety, knowledge and literature

14. In the soul of a generation that shunned all favors
Devoid of truthfulness, inclined to lies

15. It did not know, out of ignorance and folly
What religion was, though called by good advocates

16. As if deaf towards God's call
Until Sha'ban complained to Rajab

17. You revived the spirit of glory in the East anew
And glory does not come freely without cause

18. So you were truly the pillar of its awakening
Does the mill wheel spin except around the pivot?

19. O people, here is Palestine speaking to us
A true conversation of brothers, so wondrous

20. By God, O steadfast brothers, how have
The Jews overpowered the best and most virtuous?

21. O people, twenty in the battlefield did not waiver
Nor succumb before the massive armies

22. O people, twenty soldiers stormed
The enemy camp until it screamed and took up arms

23. God is Great was proclaimed in the battlefield
Propelling them to victories in marches and raids

24. The state of Palestine says to us
See what the brothers have done in the Negev

25. They marched to purify God's House anew
As the best Prophet marched there before

26. So the pulpit of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Appeals to them, sure of God's soldiers, undefeated

27. O people, twenty alone in the battlefield
The opponent retreated in the wake of retreaters

28. When young I was asked like all people
What is the best you wish for in life?

29. Most of my peers said
They aspire for high office and position

30. But your concern was to revive Sharia
So you were a brother in heart though a child

31. You called for what the Messenger called for
Thus you were truly the Imam of Arabs and non-Arabs

32. They thought by killing you, the light of our call would be extinguished
And they would rest, this is the assumption of every fool

33. How many Abu Jahls met death vanquished
Before our call - how many Abu Lahabs

34. Do they reckon that God will leave them
To revel and play as they desire?

35. Whoever tries to extinguish God's light, only diminishes
And the Almighty hurls him into flames

36. The defeat of Pharaoh at the hands of Moses is not
Hidden from us - how he met an evil end

37. This is God's protection, O aggressor, and His sanctity
God watches closely those who disobey Him

38. Prepare, your Lord has prepared a fire like no other
For all those approaching evil against Him
