1. By Allah, say to me, O Messenger
What is that long grievance

2. By Allah, say to me again
For I am disturbed by what you say

3. Speak softly to my hearing of her
And let the talk of her be long

4. By Allah, when you went to her
Was there rejection or acceptance

5. If that pleasure returns to me
Then the good news is yours, O Messenger

6. Mine is my love for you if this is true
For with me it is little
