1. A letter has come to me from you, bearing gifts
Though it was not empty, for the sea holds its pages
١. أَتاني كِتابٌ مِنكَ يَحمِلُ أَنعُماً
وَما خِلتُ أَنَّ البَحرَ تَحويهِ أَوراقُ
2. And I, for that beauty, am thankful
And I, for that grace, do yearn
٢. وَإِنّي عَلى ذاكَ الجَميلِ لَشاكِرٌ
وَإِنّي إِلى ذاكَ الجَمالِ لَمُشتاقُ
