1. I treasure the one who sent an apple -
His sending reveals his wit -
١. فَدَيتُ مَن أَرسَلَ تُفّاحَةً
إِرسالُها دَلَّ عَلى فِطنَتِه
2. His intention that when I taste it
My yearning for seeing him grows -
٢. وَقَصدُهُ أَنّي إِذا ذُقتُها
تَشتَدُّ أَشواقي إِلى رُؤيَتِه
3. For its color is from his cheek
Its taste from his saliva
٣. فَاللَونُ مِن خَدَّيهِ وَالطَعمُ مِن
ريقَتِهِ وَالطيبُ مِن نَكهَتِه
