1. You sent me an apple you had carved
Out of a heart that burned with love for me,
١. أَرسَلَت لي تُفّاحَةً نَقَشَتها
مِن فُؤادٍ بِحُبِّها مُستَهامِ
2. And on it was a scent that bore the words:
"My love, I send my loving thoughts to thee."
٢. وَعَلَيها كِتابَةٌ مِن عَبيرٍ
يا حَبيبي مِنّي عَلَيكَ سَلامي
