And my yearning for it, and my nostalgia

The light appeared in my heart and atop my forehead

3. Its houses were homes to me
And youth was my friend and companion there

4. I remembered an era in Muhassab from Mina
And what lies beyond, the plains and valleys

5. And our days between Maqam and Zamzam
And our brothers, visitors and locals alike

6. And the good morning call in the courtyards of the Kaaba at dawn
And shade where the lute would play at times

7. A breeze came from the side of Nu’man
Speaking of its vines and branches there

8. An era when time was ample for me
To do as I pleased, seriously or fun

9. When life was verdant, a delight to behold
And its face was glowing, without frowns
