١. وما أشبهَ الحمَّامَ بالموتِ لامرئٍ
تَذَكَّرَ لكنْ أينَ مَنْ يتذكرُ
2. Of men gone by, and in the dust of death
Sees naught save winding-sheets and mortcloth webs!
٢. تجرَّد منْ أهلٍ ومالٍ وملبسٍ
ويصحبُهُ مِنْ كلِّ ذلكَ مئزرُ
