1. Whoever aspires to drink from the water of virtue
Must be patient in love, however painful

2. My love for the one who blamed me and the one who blamed me not
A glance from whose eyelids was healing for me

3. And after he brought me to the state of a nightingale
My grieving heart went "balbala" without a companion

4. Oh you who blame me, be gentle, for indeed
What his estrangement caused in my heart was hurtful

5. I love one whose beautiful face was covered
With beauty that sweetens the wine cup for me

6. He is always fulfilling my request
Yet I have not attained my desire of kissing him

7. My heart I have surrendered to the fire of passion
If an unbeliever saw him, he would become Muslim

8. I cannot bear the one who blamed me or strove against me
So advise someone else at length

9. It's the same, whether one prayed for me or not
For my heart contains burning embers

10. A man who was quick to shed my blood
And did not respect the covenant he made

11. No loss of my eye's sleep in him, nor
Is a loss for me in Ali, no

12. He makes Yahya live beautifully, so how wonderful!
His endeavor was to detail what is most wonderful

13. O garment of the King, indeed how gentle
Were Yahya and his son to you

14. He made sharp the pens of glorious things and let
The King's viewer through him have insight

15. That is the bounty of God, which He grants
To whom He wills, appointing a man without others

16. His two hands are signs from the two of them
That caused water to flow from the rock

17. With it he admonishes the lofty ones to refine themselves
And the tongues of enviers admonish him

18. A young man whose experience is like that of an old man
The precedents of success flow through him

19. Time is a slave to his ascendancy, so it does not
Fail to praise him perpetually

20. None appointed by the Sultan in any position
Compares to Aladdin, who resolves troubles

21. O you who revive merit and gold with mention
You have laid down pearls for us, so we lay down gold

22. Your preparation has spread greater good for me
And by God I have every right to speak of it more
