1. Do not seek excellence or refinement,
For knowledge may harm the youth and deep study.

2. And do not count yourself among the wise,
For every fool with little wit is provided for.

3. Luck is more useful than the luck you enjoy,
So what benefits a man of little luck, refinement?

4. Knowledge is considered part of a young man's livelihood, and for it
There is contraction in every spaciousness of excellence.

5. The people of excellence and morals have languished,
While the ignorant, markets have been set up for them.

6. And people are enemies of him whose merits excel,
If he goes deeper, they call him a heretic.
