1. The cupbearer has watered it with wine, and so it bent over
As a tender branch bends over from the rain
١. وأَغْيَدَ رَوَّتْهُ المُدامَةُ فَانْثَنى
كَما يَنْثَني مِنْ رَيِّهِ الغُصُنُ الغَضُّ
2. I called upon her while she was in the embrace of the vineyard
And the earth had begun to strip off its dark clothes
٢. دَعَوْتُ إِلَيْها وَهْوَ في دَعْوَةِ الكَرى
وقَدْ أَخَذَتْ في خَلْعِ أَسْوَدِها الأَرْضُ
3. So he got up with the remnants of drunkenness in his sides
And in his eyes some of the roses and gardens
٣. فَقامَ وفي أَعْطافِهِ فَضْلُ سَكْرَةٍ
وفي عَيْنِهِ مِنْ وَرْدِ وَجْنَتِهِ بَعْضُ
