1. He roamed the ruins of Khuza'a left behind,
An Arab of a noble lineage, eastern Al-An.

2. Where there was once singing and pipes for us,
Are treaties for the precious and the white sheep.

3. And from Toayl'a the flank of the slopes have been covered
With a veil, the treaties gone after Qahtan.

4. The winds have changed its features since they roared
With hosts from Judham and Tayy and Tahan.

5. You would think them, through the twisting sands,
Covering the features of ruins and sands.

6. The torrent overflowed, erasing the shapes, and
The place languished over a land of Marnan.

7. I say, and none of its inhabitants remain for me
Except the grazing lands of beasts and crickets.

8. A land for a lovely singing slave girl,
A houri created in the form of a human.

9. Radiant, sublime, gentle, embracing,
Sleepy, growing with cheeks.

10. White, lofty, blossoming with glory,
Laughing white, with the perfume of coats.

11. Leafy, gentle of soul, pleasant,
Adorned, swaying with tenderness and bliss.

12. Her qualities are goodness, her cheeks redness,
Her eyebrows shoot arrows from human bows.

13. Her forehead's splendor from her hairline
Is like the rising sun, beaming with light.

14. Maybe her soft speech gently touches,
Smoothly clinging, lost in kindness.

15. Cheap are her burdens, atop her saddlebags,
Her gardens have spread the perfume of lawns.

16. In her branch is dusk, in her cheek a slit,
In her lips a slice, blossoming with tunes.

17. Her conversations are adorned, her companionships
Crowd the dunes with song and music.

18. The splendor of her eyes and beauty of her dimples
Have captivated with a cup of joy.

19. Her veils conceal her masks, hiding
Her treasures, a cloak of San'aan.

20. She has wrapped her waistbands around her hips,
Her delicate waist faint from the thirst of yearning.

21. Her black tresses are lambs, her braids are cattle,
She desires her loved ones in my covenant of satisfaction.

22. In her gait are messages, in her walking is grace,
Her words are honey flowing with milk.

23. In her cheek is flame, in her chest is gold,
Her stinginess is wonder growing in ascent.

24. In her wink is plot, in her stature dusk,
Her flowers are fruit growing with pomegranates.

25. In her eyes is fear, in her cheek shame,
In her neck sound, rising to the highlands.

26. In her jewelry is a line, in her curls fragrance,
Her land is rain with the branch and white.

27. Her camphor is sweat, her poem leaves,
Her gown stolen in the cool of cotton.

28. She surpasses the ranks when I reproach her,
Say to her confused my generosity in union.

29. My covenant with her was generosity and when I united
I did not let her incline to separation and estrangement.

30. Days that made me happy through her then threatened me,
Now they distance me from her and make me forget.

31. She said, take heed if you have any patience -
Do not be fooled by my ignorance, tempted by loss.

32. Know that you see my lineage suffices you beyond my ancestry.
Do you know who my father is from old Zayd of Kulan?

33. So I said listen to what I say and understand -
Do you know my origin is from Adnan's house?

34. And from Kinana I have ancestry and from Mudar
And nearness to the Prophet's family of offerings.

35. Muhammad, may Allah's prayers complete him,
His message is gifted to mankind and spirits.
