Perfectly composed then articulated in Oman

2. The proud ones believe in poetry as kin
And to them belong the lineages of the science of meanings

3. The resolute, silent ones in every age
Its people are in the vanguards of knights

4. The east of the earth and the morning are in its hands
Like a bracelet glittering with the water of al-Juman

5. (Muscat) is the abode of wisdom and rhetoric
(For al-Khalil bin Ahmad) the artist

6. A harbor where the seas swim toward
And to it arrived the sciences of language

7. And the Most High heaven yearns for (Nizwa)
Its heart in affection and tenderness

8. The boats of travelers docked in (Oman)
And lightning inscribes the verse of marriage

9. (Muscat), Muscat of the clouds, and cradle of
Thought, spring of the thirst quencher

10. Its pride is the pride of letters that compete
In the beauty of arts and artists

11. In the peaks of mountains and the rhyming lines
A kiss that stirred my passions here

12. And gallantly, I complain of gallantry to one
How can I be given of salt my wishes

13. My deadly charmers, white and brown
The coquettes - how much have the coquettes tortured me

14. Do not ask me, Oman, of what I suffer
Or what troubles of my time trouble you

15. I am on a journey whose extent I do not know
A lifetime that passed, nothing but moments

16. And the smoke of passion within my ribs
How much I conceal it, mocking my smoke

17. An Arab in eloquence and rhetoric
No longer of the species of mankind

18. All whose glory is Arabness have become
Symbols of terror, humiliation, and defeat

19. What color is left of my life
From the lack of lights and colors

20. Leave me to reveal what excites me
Perhaps I will excite the crowds, excite them

21. And ask me of youth and maidens
And the smiles of clouds in (Ghadan)

22. And the beautiful cheeks and blossoms grazing
The lovesick of palaces from (Uyban)

23. Kisses of clouds on its cheeks
Loving its fragrance and goodness of place

24. The hearts of maidens complain of its magic
The magic of Sanaa has no equal

25. And the time which was in its hands
Who can equal time or approach it

26. Who can blame me if I am infatuated with it
And my pride that I am of Sanaa

27. I came to sing of my love for Oman
And for its wedding I send congratulations

28. And a perfume that India and Sindh smell
Called the scent of the Yemeni beloved
