1. Do not expect cheap tears from me
The most precious tears are my burning tears

2. Not for a soul that passes away, but
They are part of my offering to help the masses

3. I scattered them recklessly, not to pity an oppressor
Or a trifler, and to alleviate the aggrieved

4. Like the torrents of rain to which
Nations appeal, and it rumbles with famine and hunger

5. My poetry, my tears, and my humanity
And my burning for my homeland and my devotion

6. It flows in the valleys from its melodies
Radiance, and it smells laughingly of crops

7. And it returns with hope that was absent, content
After its estrangement, the most precious intercessor

8. And it overflows like a volcano in its concern
Woe to the arrogant frightened one

9. It has two personalities that have united
As the visible unites with the audible

10. Or as the rigor deposited in the gentleness
Or as the heroism in the shyness and calm

11. These are my tears, not flowing feebly
Proud, and do not mind the base weeping

12. This is my poetry, a revolution for my citizens
In their misery, and guidance for the masses

13. It is wealth for me when it is wealth
For my citizens, my message, and my inclination

14. So mock it as you wish or enjoy it
O people, for it is my love and my tears
