1. Ash Wednesday, oh afflicted holiday
And oh symbol of the agony of man

2. In you is the memory of a setback and a triumph
And a mix of faith and ingratitude

3. This ash is not from palm tree fronds
Ash, but my conscience found me

4. If my past is present in it and the
Present too, and my humbled future

5. The noble Messiah blessed what
Is in it of fervor, visions and meanings

6. Leave me, my people, to kneel in
My worries reverently to these crucifixes

7. If I were Muslim, my heart
Would contain the world wandering like the Creator of the universes

8. The philosophies of life do not belong
To one religion among all religions

9. They are the sense of tragedies
And interpreting the existence of a confused distribution

10. From dust I was created then to
Dust my destination calls me thirsty

11. And I am the wandering destitute who
Is comfortable in his misery, the friendly enemy

12. Mention me, yes, mention me here
With my great victory then my humiliation

13. And the arrogance of life and creation and the world
Is common in the spirit of this time

14. Nothing remains but beauty, nothing but
Goodness, nothing but love in selfish existence
