من قبل بالخيام بعد سؤاله
3. So you see talismans clearly speaking
As radiation speaks behind its hills
٣. فترى الطلاسم مفصحات مثلما
يتحدث الإشعاع خلف طلاله
4. And you see streams ending
To its seas, repeating its gifts
٤. وترى الجداول مترعات تنتهي
لبحاره وتعيد كل نواله
5. And you see the beautiful dancers for pleasure
A lover's dance when joined with their beloved
٥. وترى الخمائل راقصات للردى
رقص المحب إذا احتفى بوصاله
6. Travel with the feet of benefactors, immortalized
With the sweet and familiar from its chain
٦. سر في ركاب المحسنين مخلدا
بالعذب والمأنوس من سلساله
7. You did not love in life as a creature
And today you love, melted into its imagination
٧. ما كنت تعشق في الحياة ككائن
واليوم تعشق ذائبا بخياله
8. And people, some love for themselves
So they are gems characterized by their attributes
٨. والناس منهم من يحب لذاته
فهي الجواهر نمقت بخصاله
9. Their poems are their spirits and imagination
In every verse prominent in its contexts
٩. اشعارهم أرواحهم وخيالهم
في كل بيت عارم بخلاله
10. And others comprehensively embody their beauty
The mirror of the art world reflects its beauty
١٠. وسواهم المستوعبون جمالهم
مرآة دنيا الفن رجع جماله
11. Their essence was not merely represented by their poetry
Its core a mirror without parallel
١١. ما كان معدنهم ممثل شعرهم
فصميمه مرآة غير مثاله
12. It is enough what affection I have shown you
Without questioning the limits of its perfection
١٢. يكفيك ما أسديت من أنس لنا
دون التساؤل عن حدود كماله
13. And about the vines and how their nectar was
And the extent of originality and independence in them
١٣. وعن الكروم وكيف كان رحيقه
ومدى الأصالة فيه واستقلاله
14. It is enough for you to repeat the call and around us
Are these banquets for existence and all its aspects
١٤. يكفيك ترديد النداء وحولنا
هذي الموائد للوجود وآله
15. I have coveted their delicacies and how the spheres
Have deprived them, each mourner in his own thoughts
١٥. هشت أطايبها وكم صدف الورى
عنها وكل نائح بخباله
16. And if they had understood, they would have gathered around them
And cheered for companionship before its passing
١٦. ولو أنهم عقلوا لطافوا حولها
ولهللوا للأنس قبل زواله
17. And shared in rapture in the company
And sang with it poetry of ardour
١٧. ولشاركوها في الحبور بصحبة
وترنموا معها بشعر الواله
18. What is this world but our dreams?
And a dream is like a father who hid his children
١٨. ما هذه الدنيا سوى أحلامنا
والحلم مثل أب خفا بعياله
19. Go to the world of imagination and leave us
Whatever charmed your towering poetry in its majesty
١٩. إذهب إلى دنيا الخيال ودع لنا
ما افتنّ شعرك شامخا بجلاله
20. And leave beauty echoing the scent
Of spring spreading in its trails
٢٠. ودع الجمال مرددا أنفاسه
عبق الربيع يشيع في أذياله
21. And abandon your legacy of perplexity and questioning
Generation after generation fixated on its horizons
٢١. واترك تراثك حيرة وتساؤلا
جيلا فجيلا شاخصا لمحاله
