1. We stood in awe before the waterfall
Wherein lies light and darkness intertwined

2. The lively sun courts it, just as do
The trees when they retire for the night

3. And here are stars that rose without their night
Their colors playing atop the branches' bend

4. The bushes all around, yet rendered tame
No doubt remains for those who look and see

5. The water's babble sings a melody
As if houri's stood rapt behind its screen

6. These sleepy shadows stifle back their yawns
And drunk on dreams for all the dreamers lean

7. I forgot the time and my friend's remark
What time is this to pass and words to wane?

8. The essence of the gardens, nay, their truth
And from all else in life we must abstain

9. I looked upon it rapt, and all around
A tribe of plants - a whole world rebuilt

10. Diverse sights from faraway lands
Brought together into order for the wise

11. Enveloped in a warmth, which I believe
In harmony the poets gladly sing

12. Though each may hail from a different home
Parted by ills and conflict's sting

13. How can humankind, though crowned supreme
Seem shrouded still in reason's darker night?
