1. O you who travels to Egypt in glory and humility
Congratulations, for Egypt is nothing but the mother of homelands

2. The mother of civilization, her childhood
Was nothing but the pride of artists and humans

3. Every country has lands for its people to take pride in
And Egypt, no matter how independent the second homeland

4. It has covenants over the world, authenticated
So it has always loved the world with benevolence

5. You are its righteous son, it does not forget your status
You have rights over it, no matter how much time passes

6. And whoever is a pillar in his specialty
And a creator of the virtues of its constructive generation

7. Knowledge upon knowledge, for there is no good for our nation
Except from knowledge, as knowledge is enlightening

8. Kiss the soil of Egypt for me bowing in passion
And take my heart from me as an offering

9. Knowledge like your knowledge fed me and revived me
Thus was your creation, in days of despair it revived me

10. And I do not say farewell, but I say while hoping
In the homeland of the sun, it consoled me and called me

11. O you whose humility is the title of his wisdom
And his destiny above appraisal and title

12. And who busied me away from his gatherings
For you are closest to my heart than the intimate

13. I entrust upon you the Nile’s youth, guide them
To the truth, if the seduction of Satan betrays them

14. Courage is the highest of what you were characterized with
So proclaim it, falsity, the attacking, injurious

15. There is no good in knowledge if cowardice becomes its master
For knowledge, through knowledge, rises without a sultan

16. These are the greetings of an outcast exile
And a bouquet of my feelings and melodies

17. I have not found anyone gifted to carry them
To Egypt when the Nile’s loyalty consoled me

18. And I have not found a genius more deserving of my generosity
Nor ideals more deserving of my faith

19. So live for your people, rather for all people
And promise your people a provision that is not fleeting
