1. My obedient servant, adept with my books
Has no homeland, though he lives close to me

2. Sold like a slave when his owner
Subdues him with blows and he obediently responds

3. Adorned with whatever becomes abundant
In fashions and tales from every direction

4. He rides the sea and the air
As he rides the railroads, even every mount

5. Guarded by soldiers as they would guard
A symbol of the enthroned master

6. And hundreds of followers in every region
Who betray him are branded with the ugliest guilt

7. How many times have orifices welcomed him
As he came dancing with kisses of love

8. How many times have tears streamed down his cheeks
From the melting sorrows of his heart

9. How many times has he been insulted, cursed, and torn apart
As Christ was punished on the cross

10. And he is that chaste one, nothing pleases him
Except benefiting others without gain

11. He roamed all the lands, not complaining
Of where, still between peace and war

12. And met horrors without recoiling
And through him the greatness of a people was recorded

13. And he is the smallest of men in size
Lofty and towering like his Lord in status

14. He competes with money in subjugating people
Even if he remains untouched by flaws

15. And if he acquired a flaw, it became
Greatest in merit and most precious to every lover

16. And if he dies, he does not die, and his
Status rises, and he becomes a treasure to companions
