1. Longing for you has left me solitary,
And I, once an intimate, am now estranged.

2. When all the seasons waft their fragrance,
Stirring up hope of you around me,

I shine the light of truth on them, undaunted.

Your fiery heart and blood, like mine.

To fools and those forgetful of the past!

13. If only I had your nearness to command
The rebels - how my call would rise!

14. I would make Egypt again the ancestress
Of whom the poets sing in poetry.

15. Her principles would outshine Christ in justice,
Her sun would outshine Akhenaten's light.

16. The valley would become a garden of freedom
Cleansed of rabble and ignoble men,

17. The Nile a honed sword but for her noble loved ones
Her shores danced with joy's sweet madness,

18. The crow sang of her, his song halting
Only for manor and palace.

19. In her depths lies profound equality,
Like light on mountain and in ravine.

20. Man's worth comes only from his usefulness,
As with all earth's sublime creations.

21. Without its usefulness, the sun itself
Would be an enemy army to us.

22. Homeland of my youth, sweet dream of youth,
You remain my dream and solace.

23. In my old age I shoulder the burdens
Of the inert and those resting in the grave.

24. My exile has become my pulpit
For vengeance against wrongs and woes.

25. In the land of the free, none fails it,
None is crushed into the dust.

26. Their boldness rises above desire
And turns dust into fleecy white clouds,

27. Or cleaves atoms - thus is hell
For the tyrants, paradise for the learned.

28. Their courage has become exemplary,
Their values tower over the cowardly.

29. If you remain dear and unbowed,
Pleased with my lifelong loyalty,

30. Then, to prove my humanity,
And be a symbol of rapport and kinship,
