1. Are those sun rays or is it my poetry
Returning to my heart with love and secrets?

2. And what are these fluttering particles filled with?
Gems or fantasies of my thoughts?

3. Yes, they are of my fire and light that scattered
And danced playfully in the sun

4. They went to my beloved and came back as if
They had frolicked around me, veiled flirts

5. So you are like me, little one, except
I am burdened, suffering my prison and shackles

6. And nothing is harsher than a weeping conscience
Though tyranny of the unjust be immense

7. I will extravagate in these chains in penance
When once I revelled amidst flowers

8. Never will I find happiness and contentment
You will find reprisal for your conceit in your sentence

9. A just reward for spurning love
When I turned away from your love

10. Look through the crevice where light carries me to you
The light now has shades of trees in it

11. Phantoms tease me, dancing on the blank wall
As if these shadows have discovered my missteps

12. And fell smeared, like my hopes, in the gloom of the recluse
So escape, my hope, escape the ugliness

13. I shame myself wherever I go
The paths lead me when love tempts me

14. That is my voice, my breath, my gaze
That wanders in my heart and tortures me

15. How to escape, O simpleton, is nonsense
That I should not escape, even if I lose my hopes

16. Injustice cannot dwell in living conscience
The secret of life, and it accepts no shackles

17. Laugh, my sorrows
And sleep, my passion

18. And stir, my madness
In the love of revenge

19. My revenge is not with a sword I would unsheathe
But with integrity, feared by the unjust

20. Patience, O son of Abduss! Tomorrow
You will sip the poison when you meet the son of Zaydun

21. You will sip the matchless poisonous poetry
Mockingly making stones laugh and weep

22. O you who presume to subdue the artist, exhaust him
With money and lies, you know not the eulogists

23. However remote, distance cannot separate us
Rather, absence intensifies proximity

24. O you who stole the beautiful rose, thinking it
Property, you erred! You know not the winds

25. You were named a rat, unfairly labelled
The rat toils oppressed and duped

26. While you tamper with minds, safely
Adorning theft of minds an embellishment

27. None steals the rose but a sinner, a wicked one
Whose heart embraced no gentleness or faith

28. While one may steal the bread which life deceived
And troubled with tribulations

29. And the wealth plunderer in crime has a status
Higher than one who pilfers our dreams

30. So hurry, my love, do not prolong my torment
I longingly await our union

31. A longing that transcended depictions
In senses, meanings, words and elucidations

32. You see me when you call me
Yes, you see me if you come without hesitation

33. To escape to my dream, to my temptations
I who inspired you with art, delighted in it

34. Will not be shackled in any prison or time
Hurry and find an escape tomorrow

35. Pay no heed to grudges or temptations
For people since created are foes of the eminent

36. And slaves of idols and devils
