1. Six years have passed beyond her age
My age, nay, the endless, far eternity

2. Alas! I shall not forgive what she has sinned
A reconstruction of hopes and miseries

3. Intertwined like war’s debris, would that
She were buried, and laughed not at my ruins

4. And if revived, I see only harm in her
And grievous echoes reverberate

5. It's as if hopes have no revival
And miseries are heaped upon me

6. They say, “Bliss surrounds you, do you not see?
Some nostalgia is ingratitude for my blessing.”

7. If so, the heart, the allotter, wanders
Like an ostrich in the visions of the desert

8. It flows to the past, desire carries it
Above the stars to the most beloved sky

9. It feeds on its radiance and its image
And returns amidst famine and thirst

10. If I could, I would strangle it with my hopes
I spilled the blood of my dear by my own hand

11. Six years, how much anguish in them
And how much trembling for my loyalty

12. And my blood flows on the homes of my passions
Yearningly, fueling the fire of my hopes

13. I did not choose them willingly but in rage
For truth, the free, and the martyrs

14. And I remain embracing misery as my creed
As long as I inspire my nation with my misery

15. Like me, earnestly estranged in both states
Like light when seen by the beholder’s eye

16. I have no home but the home of my exile
So if they refuse, only my refusal remains

17. Alas! I will not be content living among the disgraced
Who reserve their affection for all hypocrites

18. I will remain vigilantly watching their liberation
From these insects and diseases

19. And I will continue to inspire them with a free spirit
That has not been spoiled by twisted self-interests

20. So if my nation hails me when alive
And liberates itself with my loyalty

21. And when I pass away to demise, I bequeath
In both exiles, my passion without demise

22. This day was no coveted celebration
While exile assails my resolve and loyalty

23. Nor were lifetimes devoid of achievements
Nor were days devoid of building
