Two companions for lovers in the difficult encounter

3. I love you, do you know what your eyes
Have brought upon my heart by way of fascination

4. I love you, if only love would quench the thirst
Of one who severs a lip from its delicious spring to drink

5. I say to her, and poetry is the saline of her eyes
If I commanded it to shake off from a moist pearl

6. Show her, for in your eyes is a secret spring
And is there in anything but your eyes a sweet fountain?

7. So your eyes have not left any place in my thoughts
For another, neither from afar nor from nearby

8. You have possessed it, soul and pulse and breath
And you have become closer to my side than my own side

9. An era has passed, oh zephyr of life, and is gone
From life, an epoch overflowing with poetry and love

10. And it has immortalized the sweetest memories for all time
My eyes acknowledge them and my heart agonizes over them
