1. Your tribe expresses devotion and allegiance,
And all directions spoke of you,

As well as its hearts, palms, and arms.

3. History paused before you for a moment,
Contemplating, collecting itself slowly.

4. And swords met with your aid, O Humaymah’s gallant youth,
The most magnificent young man.

5. Saba’ sang an immortal melody,
Its enchanting beautiful mention an elixir.

6. Bilqis looked expectantly from her high place,
Yearning for you - how could she not yearn?

7. Through you her descendant regained what
The hand of time had destroyed and scattered.

8. I observed your features and your courage,
And saw your work surpassing all expectations.

9. If it were in her power, she would have spoken
Truthfully of you and what you were making.

10. She would have brought you certain news, supported
By history’s documents - they are the reference.

11. Your branches sprouted from your roots’ essence,
And through you, its branches gather in the morning.

12. O Zayed, goodness is abundant,
And the generous hand is open to the generous.

13. Your neighbors in al-Sedd preceded you in wealth
And did not begrudge what benefits.

14. The stars of my night sky were like your condition,
Illuminating and sparkling for the late night wanderer.

15. But you are the shining sun at dawn,
That makes the stars seem like nothing when you rise.

16. O builder of the edifice of prosperity for a nation
Whose mention is immortalized in fragrant beauty.

17. A mention echoed by centuries with praises
And virtues through which nobility springs forth.

18. You made Mārib into a Mārib through its dam,
And restored what had been lost, so the square was set right.

19. My God, what description should be chosen for you?
For you are most righteous, and what poetry can match you?

20. Yours is the whitest hand in our history,
Purer than clear water and more radiant.

21. You united us in an Arab state,
Where we enjoy its security and prosperity.

22. You continued building life’s path,
And its path is a glory that is built and planted.

23. How many a generous hand you revived
And directed toward what benefits and aids!

24. You made the desert, after changing it,
Into a soft meadow blooming with flowers.

25. So it came to wave with meadows and roses
And palms and diverse fruits.

26. To you, from the rarest treasures, a pearl
That outvalued its like to whoever covets.

27. My conscience inspired it, so it came exceeding
What a friend desires, beyond all expectations.

28. I seek through it no profits or price
To be led and paid.

29. God has enriched us through His abundant grace,
And to His clouds of pardon we look expectantly.

30. Time passes with its ups and downs,
But mention does not pass away or shake.
