1. Today it welcomes its hopes, desiring them
And its sky of glory is illuminated

2. Egypt thrives, and its blessed Nile
With its King, religion, world and all that is in it

3. God made the auspicious era of Sa’d al-Su’ud rise
Like a full moon whose nights have been whitened

4. Taking up the matter is the one with vast knowledge
Bearing the burden with a lofty soul

5. His ambition falls short of the least of its affairs
For one who seeks the highest of them

6. And if ease were to emulate it in
The outpouring of dew, it would rain generously on its valleys

7. It flourishes through his pen, directing
The matter of distant and nearby realms

8. Acting as he wills, judging and judging
Until meanings pour into their meanings, refined

9. And mercy for God's servants, ensuring
The best that a soul has wished for

10. Supported by guidance and truth, seeking
The contentment of the righteous to please their Lord

11. His virtues grow in description; can
The stars of the horizon enumerate them?

12. The success of Egypt, its patron, and its refuge
Its pillar, its redeemer, and its savior

13. And its fresh branch that its roots have grown
From a fertile palm tree that yielded bountifully

14. Its Khedive, son of its Khedives, son of its hero
Its Prince, the valiant, son of its Governor

15. The Caliph saw in him the wisdom of his view
Kings have insight in their visions

16. He saw him most fitting to tend to his flock
And fulfill what its hopeful wish for

17. And to remove from it what has surrounded it
Of perils that terrified its households

18. So his noble decree came flying
With flashes of lightning traversing the land

19. By God, the day his light shone, rending
The cold of the clouds with its glow

20. In a procession like a necklace of pearls in arrangement
Or like the glittering stars in their courses

21. He travels in Egypt, and good tidings race him
Wherever he went, spreading through its regions

22. Accompanied by his two glorious brothers
And the Minister noble of spirit and lofty

23. An advisor of sincere, prudent opinion whom
Thoughts are known, public and private

24. His desires do not sway him from wise counsel
For fear of whoever causes them

25. Until he came to the splendid citadel, where
The cannons heralded his coming in succession

26. And the ranks of soldiers welcomed him, arranged
In strings of necklaces, adorned for their ornament

27. Proclaiming what is in their souls, their tongues
With prayers and safety following each other

28. So let Egypt pride itself on its present
Over the beauties of its past and future

29. Ah, indeed the days have revealed a wish
That the nights stretched in their continuity

30. And the blessed stars gladdened us
With the best of hopes that it aspired to

31. This one whom hopes were awaiting
For ages, counting him their ultimate aim

32. He still resides in Egypt’s heart with his love
A secret its whispers confess to its people

33. Yearning for him while its wishes obey it
Loving him while its nights defy it

34. And seeking him from the Merciful, asking
Until responding to what it pleads

35. So praise be to God, thanking Him for His blessings
For gratitude preserves its blessings and protects them

36. O son of those whose glory is known
The news of whose truthful praise is narrated

37. They led the fleets from Egypt, poisoned
To the Hijaz, to its highest summits

38. Horses pranced, famed for their prancing
Paired with their summits, their heights

39. Ships sailed, both deploying sails
Lions of war in their hands their dwellings

40. Swaying in emerald green, swimming
Challenging with their legs a hostile legion

41. They cast at them the chests of calamity, adorned
Upon the necks of their enemies, returning

42. They disciplined them not to waver from ferocity
Except when their dwellings restrained them

43. And to tread upon the ridge of battle when
Turmoil enveloped its valleys in succession

44. So they rescued the sacred house from a horde
That did not revere the sanctity of God's house

45. And they brought the horses to Najd, so it feared them
And nothing was too difficult in their efforts

46. And supporting them was the order of the Caliphate in
Its battle positions, most glorious

47. My Lord, a prayer of devotion he repeats
May your hands prosper what his hands prospered

48. You have congratulated a supremacy that has come to you
Swaying in its garb and blooming in its meadows

49. Supremacy that surpassed every station in loftiness
So nothing matched it in its stead

50. It saw you, so it fell in love; it did not
Permit anyone else to share its thoughts

51. And how many souls have aspired to it
Before, but their efforts went astray

52. They coveted it, so it slipped from their fingers
Loving it and prolonging its avoidance

53. They perished in passion, but did not attain it
So their wishes were the core of their demise

54. So may the Merciful protect its eyes for you
And cease not as its protecting Lord

55. And delight your hearing with the sweetest praise
That plays with the tune of lyrics, a chanting voice

56. Sweet like the unique necklace on
The soft skin of a beauty, increasing its grace

57. And here is some heated poetry which, when
Recited, captivates minds successively

58. Its pride is that in praise it proclaimed
True words, so none alive competes with it

59. A mounted traveller is distracted from his quest
To fulfill a need that took him traveling

60. Asking people, which people spoke it?
And which Lord rewarded its author?

61. But it is enough for it as righteousness and nobility
His acceptance and attention rewarding it

62. Poems know I do not intend them
Except for love, one of its causes

63. And I did not shun them before the one who confined
Myself in praising my Lord, nor was miserly with their rhymes

64. But it is a free soul not concerned with
What is not equal, public and private

65. It strives to you, passionately leading it
To your sanctum, sincerity guiding it

66. It came to congratulate its patron, chronicling
The success of Egypt by God's hands, its Shepherd
