1. Between dusk and redness split by twilight
Light dances in my eyes and glitters

2. No tranquility brings joy to the confused, no year
In which an eye finds rest; wakefulness has despoiled it

3. So I see naught but dreams like constellations
And naught but the shape of a sky that burned through the night

4. This day looms through the clouds and appears to me
I glimpsed its tidings over the valley

5. Wanly gleaming in the east, dreaming
The dusky clouds wrap it in their braids

6. And you, fountain of beauty who disappeared
When will I find you or find your springs?

7. The thick clouds stretched
Across the ocean, a fleet of ships in formation

8. They created a dye, a wonder of crimson, of gold enchantment
And the stars dance their dance

9. In the open sky aflame
That which lit the waters with light

10. Is a vessel of bright colors, of crystal
Tossed on the foam of the waves

11. Rising and falling on the swells
The guide appeared to it in the night, spellbound

12. By its pearls of light, enchanted
Never in its long age has the universe witnessed

13. This majesty sailing on the water
The star of dusk, arrows assailing it

14. With missiles of light pouring forth from it
Formed from the sleeping night, its rays

15. Turned to white and blue
Bewildered in deep sleep, I imagined

16. I crossed a road completely dark
No human had ever entered it before me

17. Or placed a foot on the ground there
It inspired awe, its silence and the night intensified it

18. I felt my heart aflame, its heat undulated
As I saw the ocean's mist shining

19. I stood there stunned, it terrified me, pleading
As if the light of a god had risen above it

20. I bowed my head in reverence and humility
To it, and remained in worship, submitting
