1. The faces of time smiled after frowning,
And we were clothed in a merciful kiss.

2. The gems of good tidings shone clear, after
They were obscured, so the keen blade split them open.

3. They split the night of sorrows as if
They split the darkness with a kindled brand.

4. So it was as if they breathed life into the land
That hopes spread for it from a buried root.

5. The eyes of creation were sated by it,
Adding the best kiss of blessings.

6. So it was as if my people regretted
Drinking bliss through it without cups.

7. They sway joyous and pleased,
Meeting each new moon with suns.

8. A rider greeting a rider,
And a companion led to a companion.

9. An intercessor with God comforting him
The impact of guidance in the familiar place of worship.

10. Seeking from it a holy mercy
That leads to the Most Merciful through sanctification.

11. Good health with the sincerity of supplication, it
Cures illness and brings recovery.

12. O son of the Caliphs, by whose light
I tread the path of truth after lessons,

13. And the supporter of the upright religion, with resolve
That drove its straightness without swerving,

14. Leave your wishes in it, and the pleasures of wishes
In the joy of abandonment and submission.

15. You have surrounded the flock with governance, so it was folded
In your protection, O excellent owner.

16. A lion protecting the sanctuary of its cubs
Until they found safety from the vilest villain.

17. By the sand grouse of the desert who have become
Prancing proudly in the gown of a bride,

18. And the pregnant she-camels crouching down
Informing about a marked and blessed male camel.

19. Reeds concealing their abdomens as if they were
Gazelles gathered in the wilderness, confined.

20. The passing months and years have wounded them
So they glance coyly with bashful eyes.

21. Your existence is the people's amulet and protection,
And the life of our souls and selves.

22. Without you its covenant would be lost and decay.
God has given you that which has no parallel,

23. And has granted you a fortune that is unrivaled.
Hearts incline to you before our faces,

24. It's all the same, from head or subordinate.
So when you are present, your dread departs,

25. Protecting from every windy storm.
And when you travel, a sign of bliss leads it

26. In procession and celebration.
And if evidence matches perfection,

27. It comes with something heard and precisely measured.
So enjoy your eternal kingdom

28. That vexes enemies with terrible punishment.
And to you from me, embarrassed by it,

29. A maiden adorned with all that is precious.
Forgive me, for youth and its light are erased

30. And the dawn of old age shines at sunset.
Were it not for your care you gave me,

31. I would not have busied myself with poetry after it.
God did not leave me any cultivation of resolve

32. Except the cultivation of a hot brand.
Time has weakened me in the knowledge

33. That I studied in assemblies and lessons.
It dominated my abundance and disturbed my refuge,

34. And uprooted the saplings from my garden of activity.
Your approval is the mercy I seek

35. That gives life to my soul and takes away my agony.
