1. My heart is melting from the heat of longing for you
So visit even if spears block the way

2. Reconcile with me for I am lovesick for you
And my heart flutters when I remember you

3. If the agony of being apart from you
Were carried on easy roads, it would still be unbearable

4. I drown in oceans of tears because of you
Yet I'm sinking in an ocean of love for you

5. If the tears of lovers were to flow
Liquid gold would stream from my eyelids

6. So my heart is tied up and bound to you
With my tears pouring out unrestrained

7. I love you with the love of a lowly slave for his life
Though the path of love be narrow

8. I yearn like the Prophet, craving you
When the hem of darkness is pierced by lightning

9. The torment of your absence burns within my ribs
And I am aflame with the fires of passion

10. When I remember you, my breaths rise up
And I have sighs that intensify and screams

11. I offer myself to the arrows though my soul refuses
For without love the soul finds no comfort

12. Were it not for innocent love that filled my mind
The parting band would not have pained me

13. May God watch over the nights of youth and its days
Illuminating them like the light of the polite sun

14. Playful dreams tease my imagination
But I pay them no heed and avoid them

15. And my youth intercedes for what I intend
Lost in the intoxication of wandering, I cannot awaken

16. I kiss the cheeks’ breaches whenever it pleases me
And after daybreak, cloudiness has inclined towards me

17. So I followed what I expressed with talk of events
And an arrow — in the heart it lodged — slick

18. Those enjoyments all went by quickly
Misfortune’s guide leads them on and drives

19. And nothing remains but the generosity of my father Ali
Happy for him is the deep sea of gifts

20. The progeny of the sultan of glory, son of Ahmed
His golden troops, too narrow for them

21. Glories — and its branches prospered among people
And also the clan purified for him and its roots

22. The lights shone from him when he appeared
With a face like the full moon, serene

23. And he trails the trains of armor into the battlefield
Galloping easily, urged on steed

24. Splitting the skulls of enemies with Muhandid
A slender, slick sword that rivals lightning

25. So no rest comes upon his enemies in his time
Nor wretchedness to whoever met him as a friend

26. The bounty of his right hand encompassed regions
His fingers like rods — and they pound

27. Refusing the position of leadership elegance
And it’s not but truthfully deserving of praise

28. When his banners were carried to battle
Flapping in the sky with brightness

29. The glorious marched under it with sword and spear
And their pact is lifelong and tight

30. Some swords are similar to their faces
Rising high, dawning sheaths

31. And he leads them while victory guides his horses
To awe and conspicuous opening he drives

32. So stay, O best of people, in the abode of greatness
Where trees have tender branches and leaves
