1. Butr and Murran answered his call,
Victory and success adorn their steeds like crowns.

2. He came at dawn, dragging the trains of armor,
Angry for battle and the thrust of lances.

3. This is Sa'eed bin Sultan, before whom
The skulls of foes bowed down in surrender.

4. A piercing blade the enemies feared so,
As devils fear the falling stars up yonder.

5. When he shook his sword above the fray,
Brave warriors trembled and fell asunder.

6. His spear made drunk, bent over in its scabbard,
As date palms sway when the wine makes them blunder.

7. The stars of heaven feared him and it seemed
Westward they fled to hide in wonder.

8. Allah's earth shook in fear under his tread,
When to rouse his warriors was his thunder.

9. His red swords sheathed after the skulls they cleft,
Melodies of death their every blow did plunder.

10. His steeds armed for war, they flew like hawks,
Wheeling through the skies in their red armor.

11. Their neighing at night shook the celestial spheres,
Set them spinning, whirling without number.

12. When his banner rose, called his troops to ride
To victory, no power could it sunder.

13. Beneath it warriors marched, their faces bright,
Plain and mountain leveled, none asunder.

14. Stalwarts, seasoned in glory, held to their faith
Fast as rope; they never wavered nor blundered.

15. Their prince excelled all in nobility,
Dead to him were rivals, false gods a wonder.

16. Had a prophet said, "One shall come to you
Signs and proofs," it could be none but Sultan.

17. For his grace, serpents danced in infants' hands,
All creation thrived on his care and thunder.

18. But for him no virtue had been known,
Glory unnamed for Tayy or Khatan.

19. Had Zuhair in this age raised his lyre,
He'd praise none but Abs and Dhubyan in his numbers.

20. Most eloquent his speech, none can match his tongue,
Not the finest words of Kuss or Sahan.

21. Had he lived before in ancient days,
None would boast of former times nor their wonders.

22. Fortune sides with him, the stars his allies
In his every endeavor and adventure.

23. Whenever foes connived and broke allegiance,
His swords pierced them, held fast in every encounter.

24. Scattered like sheep a shepherd with his crook
Drives across the desert sands asunder.

25. Prey for beasts and birds their bodies lay,
None survived, none buried, none to mourn or wonder.

26. No steed or plunder could avail them now,
No fortress left to shield them from his thunder.

27. When their deeds were wicked, ruin befell them,
Loss and shame enveloped them in numbers.

28. Little did they know a king ruled over them,
Holding in his grasp their fate asunder.

29. Live forever mighty Sultan, unique in glory!
Through all time you reign, our shield and thunder.
