1. O guide of the caravan, has Maghnatif become desolate
The lands are fertile, strings are plucked and songs are sung

2. Or has Muthanjir been erased with its writings
And the winds gladden the flashes of lightning with joy

3. Has the weather become pearl-like after the hail
And the earth adorned with green gowns and carpets

4. Have the abodes become verdant after they withered away
Have the valleys become watered and irrigated

5. Are the gardens adorned with embroidered flowers
And the birds chant melodious tunes

6. If this bounty remains continuous
And sustenance flows steadily and guided

7. It tells of Nawal, son of the Sultan whom
The servants took pride in, for he who prevailed, prevailed

8. The knight of battles and lion of fights, bestower
Of bounty, protector of the devout

9. Of great wisdom, strong determination in times of turmoil
And in peace, most generous and noble

10. Keeping his word, wise and serene
Never failing to fulfill a promise or appointment

11. A lion whose fire flares up in wars
When the striker, accustomed to strike lions, strikes

12. Hunting resolute peers in fright
For in turmoil, he is an adept hunter

13. Lord of knowledge, slaughterer of bodies, humbler
Of the unjust, fortifier of the sublime

14. Live in prosperity and a kingdom, O fortunate one
With your might, God's land has become bejeweled
