1. The foolishness of an old man leaves no wisdom after,
Yet the youth becomes wise after foolishness.

2. Nothing kills foolishness like wise forbearance
Which the gentle man uses to overcome ignorance.

3. So do not act foolishly, even if provoked to anger
Against another, for abuse is blameworthy.

4. And do not break with a brother over a sin,
For the noble forgive sins.
