آليت لا أبكي على هالك

1. I vowed I would not weep over a perished one
After the Messenger of God, the best of mankind,

١. آَلَيتُ لا أَبكي عَلى هالِكٍ
بَعدَ رَسولِ اللَهِ خَيرُ الأَنامِ

2. After the one who had been our guide
From a confusion that was and the darkness of night.

٢. بِعدَ الَّذي كانَ لَنا هادِياً
مِن حَيرَةٍ كانَت وَبَدرَ الظَلام

3. O you who conveyed to us news from his Lord
Among us, and O you who completed the night of perfection,

٣. يا مُبلِغِ الأَخبارِ عَن رَبِّهِ
فينا وَيا مُحييَ لَيلَ التَمام

4. And guided people to righteousness,
And legislated the lawful and unlawful for them.

٤. وَهادِيَ الناسِ إِلى رُشدِهم
وَشارِعَ الحِلَّ لَهُم وَالحَرام

5. You are the one who saved us after
We were on the brink of a precipice.

٥. أَنتَ الَّذي اِستَنقَذتنا بَعدَما
كُنا عَلى مَهواةِ جُرفٍ قيام

6. So God took him when he fulfilled
His days at the advent of the doves.

٦. فَاِستَأثَرَ اللَهُ بِهِ إِذ وَفى
أَيامَهُ عِندَ حُضورِ الحَمام

7. And which people attained bliss
That lasted for them from the House of Ham and Shem?

٧. وَأَيُّ قَومٍ أَدرَكوا غِبطَةً
دامَت لَهُم مِن آلِ حامٍ وَسام
