1. A gazelle decreed my blood be shed
What can I scheme when the judge has ruled
١. وَغَزَالٍ قَضَى بِسَفْكِ دَمِي
مَا احْتِيَالي وَقدْ قَضَى القَاضِي
2. I know not why he decreed in vain
With a verdict I'm pleased and acquiesced
٢. لَسْتُ أدْرِي وَقَدْ قَضَى عَبَثاً
بِاحْتِكَامٍ أنَا بِهِ رَاضِي
3. Did his gaze make us buckle and break
Or his past actions make us erect and rise
٣. هَلْ كُسِرْنَا بِلحظِ نَاظِرِهِ
أمْ نُصِبْنَا بِفِعْلِهِ المَاضِي
