1. The eclipse has unveiled the full moon in all its splendor,
And protected it from the envious eyes that wished its ruin.

2. It brought it out in the sphere of beauty and brilliance,
A companion of good fortune whose disappearance cannot be hastened.

3. For it, God created a moon that shines with its light,
Its rising and setting equal in radiance.

4. A joy to the eyes of those kept awake by cares,
For when the night darkens, its rising lightens their gloom.

5. If my eyes are blessed by the sight of its light,
Then it is right that my heart feels torment in its love.

6. Though hiding love may cure the heart,
Divulging the secret of love is also its remedy.

7. One whom a moon-like image has wasted away
And whose passions are hidden, will come into view and his happiness will revive him,

8. While I, who found bliss in the full moon - may its worshippers thrive!
In the morning its splendor is matched by the gazelle’s glance,

9. And its delicate features are framed by the river lily’s bloom.
How can the sun surpass it in beauty and light

10. When the radiance of its brilliant rising is unmatched?
For the beams of its face have been extended

11. By the shining light of our Master the Praised One.
Abu Amr, the Exalted King who healed

12. The hearts of his subjects with his justice and grace,
The brother of valor and bounty, the protector who erased

13. The gloom of injustice from us with his fairness and loyalty.
So the full moon is none but his beauty and nature,

14. And the sun is none but his face and brilliance.
Beauty is none but his being and character,

15. And the star is none but his wisdom and intelligence.
The pearl is none but his speech and smile,

16. The musk is none but his scent and softness.
The lion is none but his might and strength,

17. The rain is none but his generosity and abundance.
The lightning is none but his glance and brow,

18. The raging horse is none but his resolve and impetuosity.
Superiority is none but his patience and tolerance,

19. Justice is none but his wisdom and authority.
Pride is none but his kin and nobility,

20. Glory is none but his honor and sublimity.
A young man from whom good traits have emerged,

21. Ascending above the heavenly spheres in his grandeur.
To him God has given a Master whose health has weakened,

22. Yet there is no fear of an illness that its cure cannot mend.
So he grew weak only so his purity would shine,

23. Or as a flower that the rain has perfumed.
Or as a gentle breeze that restores the air,

24. Or a supple branch that its leisure has bent.
It is no wonder that the water grew limpid,

25. For it did so only to reveal its clarity.
It is nothing new that the hand of the morning breeze

26. Bent the robes of a branch whose bending is its nature.
So the branch's swaying stem did not curve crookedly,

27. But bent out of delicacy and imagination.
Nor did the breeze in the air grow sickly,

28. But only to refresh and purify the air.
Nor did the elegant blossoms wilt from illness,

29. But only to ignite their fragrance and water.
Nor was the polished sword tarnished,

30. But only to refine its sheen and brilliance.
Nor did the lion of the thicket roar but for an ordeal

31. In which his patience and consent will be praised.
Nor was the full moon veiled for its eclipse,

32. But only for a purpose its concealment required.
So O you who wish for its face to shine,

33. Good tidings - the horizon glitters with its light!
And O you who resent its command,

34. Woe to you - the sword's time to be drawn near has come!
God willed to protect him with his care,

35. And preserve him eternally, immune from envious eyes.
And make his protection from misfortunes suffice,

36. And grant him what cannot be matched in reward.
So the sun of kingship rose at the height of its fortune,

37. Above a sublime horizon with the banner of victory fluttering.
And blessed the world with the return of abundant rain,

38. The sustenance of creatures is His bounty.
So O Exalted Master, esteemed, revered and noble,

39. Whose appearance is loved, name extolled and whose perfection is unmatched -
I asked Him who rescued Joseph from the well,

40. To rescue you from the woes of vicissitudes.
And protect you from the schemes of envious foes,

41. Whose extensive knowledge only increased their toil.
For this prayer, as Yaseen was its end,

42. Is sure to be answered, and its hopes fulfilled.
So live in safety, with no fear of your state changing,

43. And last in security, with no expectation of your time ending.
That you may recite to all ears the interdictions of wrong,

44. As the eclipse has unveiled the full moon in all its splendor.
